Some may be familiar with Lifetime Products, a Utah manufacturer who produces everything from folding chairs and tables to basketball hoops/stands and deck boxes, as well as plastic injection kayaks! Lifetime Products has a huge distribution center in Clearfield, UT where daily products go flying out of their warehouse. But our job was to ensure that Lifetime employees had a place to lock up their bags, laptops, purses, cell phones, jackets and whatever else.

“So Lifetime Products came to us and they were looking for some employee locker options for their staff and one of the things we recommended that they install is supply them with some triple tier lockers and the reason we did that was because by using the Triple Tier Employee Lockers, Lifetime Products employees still have enough room to put their coats and lunches away in a pretty good sized locker.” said Lance Jorgenson.  “But Lifetime Products will now be able to accommodate three of their employees in the exact same amount of space that they would for one employee with these employee lockers.”

Lance Jorgenson immediately saw how he could maximize the space where the lockers would be placed, and effectively increase the amount of employees served.

“By doing the triple tier lockers, we were able to maximize the space for lockers” said Lance Jorgenson, who also pointed out the need for a quick visual inspection of the lockers.  “And the reason why they chose the perforated is that they are a factory and with a lot of employees present, Lifetime Products didn’t want anyone putting a company tool in their locker and hiding it to take home later.  They wanted to be able to see what employees had in their lockers so people couldn’t walk away with stuff.”

Helping prevent loss and theft in warehouses, distribution centers and even retail stores has been on the increase, Lance notes.

“I would say JMH has been seeing it more and more because owners want to know what their employees are doing and just want to have control over things like loss prevention and you just never know what employees are also bringing into the workplace and so these types of perforated lockers help protect the company’s interests,” said Jorgenson.

Plus the perforated triple tier employee lockers also help reduce temptation to bring things INTO the workplace that shouldn’t be there.

“The way I think on it is that using these types of employee lockers you don’t have to worry about people bringing things into work that they shouldn’t.  Because of the large amounts of perforations, they know managers are going to be able to see what is inside the locker and it just helps keep the employees honest;” Lance Jorgenson shares.  “I mean it isn’t going to stop everyone from being honest but I think these types of triple tier employee lockers help.”

Lance then had to ‘sell the idea’ of a triple tier employee locker to Lifetime management–a pretty easy task when a picture paints a thousand words…

“I think it’s a little surprising for them to realize we sell a wide variety of employee lockers and I think the main thing that helps a lot is that Jorgenson Material Handling provides them with space-saving options like in the case of Lifetime Products,” added Lance Jorgenson.  “When I explain idea like this to the manager, he came in and had us assemble the triple tier employee locker to be able to see it and once he saw it, it made sense and was more on board with the idea.”

Once the decision was made, the Jorgenson Material Handling crews had them installed in no time.

“We were able to supply them with enough for 220 employees and had them installed within two weeks,” Lance Jorgenson added.  “That is phenomenally quick when it comes to employee lockers.”
