ProBar – Proof of Performance – We Buy Used Pallet Racking
Well the good news is that take it from the gang at Jorgenson Material Handling–we’ve seen (and lived through) these stressful experiences before and we’re experienced enough and happy to help you survive them…
One of the many reasons we are chosen over our competitors is because of our insanely huge inventory of new and used pallet racking, teardrop racking and other popular types of warehouse racking for all your material handling needs. The next reason we are so popular is because we care.
Yep. In today’s day and age, it may sound a bit silly but because we care, we tend to do things that our competitors just won’t think of, let alone actually do.
Anyhow ProBar needed to move and Jorgenson Material Handling got the bid. Probar makes what Lance Jorgenson describes as “the most awesome energy bar out there.” True stuff. He can’t keep these in stock at home, so he squirrels them away in his office.
“One thing that I think was unique about that job was they kind of delayed a bit and then when they finalized it, they needed it done in about a week’s time frame and Jorgenson Material Handling was able to do it for them and meet that deadline that suddenly appeared,” said Lance Jorgenson. “So we had our guys scrambling and ProBar was trying to move over their warehouse from the old location to the new location at the same time, so it was a challenge we had to meet.”
Interestingly enough when the Jorgenson Material Handling crews went in and evaluated both the new and old ProBar warehouses and their racking, they noticed that in order to maximize the pallet positions in the new facility ProBar would need to upgrade some of their pallet racking so it was uniform across the board.
“They decided to sell it because some of it was taller or shorter than they needed and it wasn’t all uniform,” said Jorgenson. “For example some of the uprights were only 16’ tall and others were 20’ tall, so in the new warehouse they wanted it all to be uniform to allow for maximum use of their space.”
That allowed Jorgenson Material Handling to be able to purchase some great, gently used pallet racking to be used later on other projects.
“We were willing to buy their used teardrop racking and had enough of the matching stuff they needed in stock, so it worked out perfectly,” said Lance. “They got new, uniform pallet racking and since we bought their used pallet racking–they got a big, fat credit on the final bill!”
Furthermore another reason Jorgenson Material Handling got the bid on this large job was because again; our crews care. Jared Jesperson, the warehouse manager, later said Jorgenson Material Handling worked well with him and his crews and we met their requirements. Lance Jorgenson did go back and ask why ProBar did business with us and Jarod told us that when JMH first started out with a few small jobs in our old facility for us and we noticed you did a good job. But what he liked about it was after we were done, we kept touching base.
“I had called back and checked to see how everything was on several occasions to see if he had what he wanted and if there was anything else he or ProBar needed help with,” recalls Jorgenson. “That was when he let me know ProBar would be moving into the new facility and after that JMH helped him through the process so they felt that we were more of a partner with them than just a contractor that he was taking other bids from.”
So, by having those three things; enough inventory, ability to act fast and the fact we care is the reason why more and more large companies trust Jorgenson Material Handling to set up their distribution centers and warehouses.
