Lance’s Lessons 2 – Why You Need To Buy Our Modular Drawers For Sale

“These modular drawer units will hold 400 pounds per drawer and the one thing that is nice, they will fully extend out so you can see and have access to the entire drawer,” said Regional Sales Manager Lance Jorgenson. “The brand Rousseau that we sell that pretty much makes the best drawers in United States.”

It may sound like an upsell, but after reading this week’s installment of Lance’s Lessons, you’ll understand why these modular drawers may very well solve problems you didn’t realize you were having.

“Well I mean as a prime example, we’ve done a couple of companies like Carrier TransiCold, & Semi Service, we came in and only installed two or three banks of drawers, and they kind of questioned me on it why they do really need this many, and what are we going to be using those for,” said Jorgenson.  “But within about a month, once we had them installed, they were ordering double and triple of what they had originally put in because they could see how easy those drawers were to install and how much space they were about to utilize with them.”

So what is a modular drawer?  Other than what the name describes, it is a genius storage solution that is heaven sent.  Modular door inserts and modular cabinets are designed to basically fit into shelving units. Basically with these drawers, you can choose anywhere between two inches and 14 inches of drawer height, that can be anywhere from 36 inches to 48 inches wide—even though it is highly recommended clients choose the 48 inch wide because it is a better utilization of space due to now having uprights every three fee, but every four feet. The 48 inch wide option is also actually more cost effective, and takes up less overall space.

“If you do a modular cabinet, as a rule of thumb you can usually take about three or four normal shelving units and condense them down into a unit that is about seven feet tall and four foot high bank of drawers, so you can condense four or five units into one unit.  So when you’re really tight on space, and you want a very organized and clean look, that is the option you want to go with,” adds Jorgenson.

The best part is the inside of these drawers. The dividers and partitions are completely adjustable so they can be arranged to fit whatever you want into them. They also allow companies to store a lot of parts in a very dense, compact space.

“You can go from nuts and bolts to automotive parts like small tail lights, smaller fittings and these can store parts about the size of a soda can,” said Jorgenson.  “Basically something you can hand pick.”

So suppose you want to store a lot of heavy parts, like automotive parts?  Well, the weight these things will hold is simply shocking.

“They will hold 400 pounds per drawer and the one thing that is nice, they will fully extend out so you can see and have access to the entire drawer,” said Jorgenson.Yes not only will they hold 400 pounds each, but will hold that when the drawer is fully extended.

“It fully extends outward, you have a ball bearing on the carriage system and the best part is you have a lifetime warranty on them,” said Jorgenson. “When you buy them you’ve got a very high quality product that is going to last a long time. You will be turning that over to you kids and grandkids.” If you’ve shopped around and say you decide upon the Rousseau brand of drawers, well the deal gets even sweeter.

“Basically if there is any failure, like if any of the bearings fail or anything goes wrong in the normal operation of the drawer, and nothing was intentional damage, then they’re replace the entire drawer,” said Jorgenson.

He adds; “They are an awesome company because I think that they are just driven to produce high quality items. They understand the importance of maximizing people’s storage space and utilizing it and coming up with unique and innovative solutions for storage.” And if you suddenly decide you want to rotate or rearrange the drawers and shelving, modular allows you to do just that.

“It’s kind of like a huge erector set.  All the components are interchangeable with each other. You just have to match up the same size but you can interchange the parts,” said Jorgenson. “Especially if you’re in the automotive industry each year car makers come out with a new model and you need to set up how they are going to store all of these different parts. So these modular cabinet systems can help organize and you rearrange these in the warehouse as you would need to.” And that is where these drawers excel.

“So if you have a bank of drawers on one side of the shelving system and you’ve got a long run of these drawers, you can take that and move it down the line as you have other parts come in." Basically, the more parts you have to store, the more attractive this storage option becomes.

“Parts warehouses love these.  We work with Boyer Hill Housing up in Hill Air Force Base.  We’ve installed a few modular drawers there and they’ve been using these for all their hardware, door hardware and all their miscellaneous stuff for all the housing maintenance that they have on the Air Force Base so people can fix their living units.  Well they put all that hardware, bolts, screws, nuts, handles and all that different stuff into these Rousseau drawers.  Like I said they started out with two or three banks of drawers and it seems like every year they’re adding four more banks of drawers because they understand the space saving aspects of modular drawers and they want to organize their system better.”

Finally having a bank of these heavy-duty modular drawers just plain looks good!

“These also make your parts department a more professional looking environment,” adds Jorgenson.  “They give a nice, clean feel and we put these in the new Peterbilt warehouse here in Salt Lake City, Utah and these Peterbilt employees always walk their customers through there and they can be proud of that because it is a very professional looking storage system.”
