Installing The Best Of Industrial Pallet Racking For Komatsu’s New Rock Springs, WY Warehouse

“It is one thing to sell a piece of equipment, but it is more important to service it,” said Komatsu Engineer and Facility Project Manager Larry Bodhaine. “This warehouse provides us with the capabilities to perform our service, with those components on the shelves ready to go.”
Recently, Larry and Komatsu approached Jorgenson Material Handling because they were building a new 18,000 square foot service facility in Rock Springs, Wyoming.

Project Manager Lance Jorgenson and his crew took a week to set up the 31 sections of warehouse pallet racking for Komatsu. Living up to the Jorgenson arm logo of “being strong on customer service”, Lance took the time to ensure the pallet racking met the insurance company’s strict requirements and that it also showed up in the recognized ‘Komatsu Blue.’
“It was a pleasure to provide Larry and Komatsu with the precise industrial pallet racking and warehouse shelving they wanted,” said Lance. “For them to see the quality install that we did, and that we had done exactly what they wanted was truly a ‘wow’ moment. It was even better to see the looks on their faces when it showed up in the exact color of blue they had requested.”
Lance also provided Komatsu with various warehouse storage system products such as; ten Rousseau Modular Drawer Cabinets, an electric stock picking cart, over 100 feet of safety guard railing and a cool protective wire caging that was hung on the back of the pallet racking for safety. In order to maximize Komatsu’s warehouse space, a custom metal peg board was also added onto the ends of the pallet racking in order for workers to safely hang items off, rather than use more of the valuable racking space.
Jorgenson Material Handling also installed matching yellow safety guard railing in the warehouse. This new facility allows Komatsu a greater ability to store those huge components closer to the service area where they will be used, it will also help Komatsu grow its operations.

“No question,” Bodhaine agreed. “This is a satellite facility, but in the past we’ve had to bring in everything from Salt Lake City, Utah or from Gillette, Wyoming and now these components are stored right there in the market where we can obviously service much faster”.The sampling of Komatsu spare parts which could wind up on Jorgenson’s industrial pallet racking. Komatsu is actually entertaining another, larger facility, in our neighboring state of Nevada.
“We appreciated the service that we received from Jorgenson Material Handling and we are in the process of designing a facility in Elko, Nevada that is much larger,” said Bodhaine. “And so I plan to be getting with Lance and sitting down with him and laying out some designs with that location as well.”
We look forward to providing Komatsu with the racking and tools you need—all in Komatsu Blue, of course!
