Small Mine Development LLC – Proof of Performance – Reconfiguring Pallet Racking & More

Here is an issue we never get tired of solving: Maximizing space!  We love a good puzzle and it just thrills us when we are able to walk away from a job knowing that our years of experience and innovative way of looking at spacing issues in an industrial setting like a warehouse gives us the edge over our competitors.

One could say mining has changed a bit since this photo was taken–QUITE A BIT, actually! Take the company Small Mine Development in Battle Mountain, Nevada where Dave Arbon and the guys at Jorgenson Material Handling installed new pallet racking, safety netting, brand new Rousseau cabinets and lockers.  The Small Mine Development was struggling with space issue and came to us seeking a way to use their limited space more efficiently and here is how we did it!

Jorgenson Material Handling went in and took a look at the pallet racking and decided that by reconfiguring the entire place and adding more rows of pallet racking, replacing the existing pallet racking uprights with taller ones, they would be able to increase the amount of useable space in the facility.  Not only did they increase that space and save the company thousands of dollars it would otherwise have to spend upon costly expansion or moving to a larger facility, but they made it safer as well by adding safety netting to prevent products from falling off of the back of the pallet racking.

These safety nets ware made by our good friends at West Coast Netting who make a wide variety of not only safety netting, but sports-related and amusement park netting as well. (If you clicked the link, you gotta admit that’s pretty cool!)  You should check them out!

Anyhow our list of solutions didn’t stop there–Dave also saw that Small Mine Development had a staggering amount of small parts that required a much better way to inventory.  So he told them about the sturdy and pretty much invincible line of Rousseau cabinets that we offer our clients to help solve this problem.

As you can tell, not only can these Rousseau cabinets hold Dave himself, but they were the perfect solution to holding all the small parts, like washers and o-rings and other odds and ends this mining company needed to keep its machinery running.  Previously stored in boxes upon pallet racking, these cabinets were a true solution because it also kept these washers and o-rings in a dust free and containment free area, so once they were pulled from these cool, new Rousseau cabinets, they could be placed in the machines and be ready to go! If you’ve never seen how truly awesome these cabinets are, you should call us up and we’ll tell you why you absolutely need some.

We also supplied Small Mine Development LLC with some quality used lockers that had undergone a thorough multi-point inspection process before leaving the warehouse.  These were so they employees could lock up their valuables while out working on the rigs and finding cool stuff in the earth.  Incidentally when Dave presented more solutions that our durable plastic bins could solve for them, they also purchased some plastic bins to help organize their parts and other things that needed a storage solution.  So through these many options we proved that there are more storage solutions to be found that just adding more pallet racking!

We’d like to thank the good folks at Small Mine Development for presenting us with a good opportunity to solve some of their issues and help them become a more streamlined company without having to move.   Having established a level  of trust and mutual respect, we are proud to say there are two more orders heading out to them this very week and we look forward to supplying them with the pallet racking and storage solutions they need in the future as well…
