Workbenches: Everything You Need to Know
Whether you use power tools for a living or are just a weekend DIY warrior, a good workbench is essential to finishing quality projects. But how do you know which type is right for you and the task at hand? Allow us to shed some light on everything you need to know about the different types of workbenches we have available.

Open Workbenches
Open Workbenches (shown above) are the classic work station for any type of project. Standard units include a top, legs and stringer and can be accessorized with drawers, electrical outlet strips, back and end stops, risers and lower shelves to fit your specific needs. You can choose from four types of materials for the top (steel top, tuff top, plastic laminate or butcher block maple hardwood). These are available with either fixed or adjustable height legs, both of which are punched for shelves, stringers, tops and floor anchoring.
Specialty Workbenches
Our Specialty Workbenches will help you increase productivity with their heavy-duty design. Choose a complete bench or build your own! Basic benches include tops and welded legs. These feature non-conductive work surfaces that are easy to clean, come standard with adjustable legs and are available in three widths. The top is supported by heavy duty welded tubular steel legs with frames, making them strong enough to handle even the heaviest of loads.
Modular Workbenches
Modular Workbenches give you the strength and stability of a solid work surface, combined with plenty of secure storage underneath for all of your tools (in the form of either cabinets, stacked drawers or the space-saving Panel Leg). One of the best features of this type of work bench is the variety of ways they can be configured.

You can choose from four different types of tops, which can be joined together in long rows using common supports to give you more leg room or set up separately. The welded cabinets include a center shelf and built-in lock with two keys, and are reversible for left- or right-h
and operation. The drawers glide quietly and seamlessly on nylon rollers and have a sliding tray for small parts. They include a hasp for padlock attachment, but built-in key locks are also an option.
Modular Drawer Workbenches
This type of workbench is a good choice when you want to integrate a workbench with a work station. Drawers are on a roller bearing slide system, can hold up to 100 lbs. and give you full access to contents stored inside. Customize yours with partitions, plastic bins, hanging files and more. All accessories are fully compatible with each other and can be rearranged as necessary.
Cabinet Workbenches
These are perfect for standing work stations where you need plenty of storage for materials and supplies. Their heavy duty construction provides a solid base for any of the work surfaces, and closed panels protect the back and sides. Common accessories for our Cabinet Workbenches include extra shelves, sliding doors, drawers, back and end stops and risers.
Electronic Workbenches
Our selection of Electronic Workbenches have been ergonomically designed to help increase your productivity. Their heavy duty steel construction not only gives them a nice appearance, but will provide you with years of trouble-free use. Choose from either our Electronic Workcenters or Electronic Tech Benches. With our Workcenters, start with a basic bench (your choice of maple butcher block non-conductive plastic laminate or anti-static tops) and then customize with electronic risers, two- or three-drawer pedestals, under-bench electrical panels and more. Our standard Tech Bench is available with either non-conductive plastic laminate or anti-static tops, and you can customize yours with a matching tech bench riser, two- or three-drawer pedestal or power center kit.
Shop Desks
Our Shop Desks feature large writing surfaces and plenty of storage space, making them perfect for people who do a lot of writing and data entry (receiving and shipping clerks, among other professions). They are ergonomically designed to be as comfortable as possible and feature several riser compartments that allow materials to be organized in easy-to-reach locations.
We have stools, extra shelves, sliding doors, risers, cabinet pedestals and more.
