The Penco brand name resonates as a quality choice among industrial companies looking for product high performance products they can trust. Penco’s Pallet Rack and Pallet Rack Plus provide users with a perfected palletization systems that utilize a tried and tested design with a superior track record for efficiency. Powerful steel construction with an exceptional strength to weight ratio proves to be a potent racking solution that can handle almost any storage challenge. Penco pallet racking consists of two main components: Upright Frames and Beams. Both units are manufactured to maintain strict tolerances for providing reliable service at their rated loads. Beam ends are crafted from extra heavy-duty gauge steel with three prong connection to ensure positive alignment with beam to post. For extra safety, beam assembly is enhanced with a unique beam locking key constructed of heavy gauge steel, this recessed key can resist an upward force of up to 1000 pounds. Upright columns are composed of a continuous post roll formed into an “M” design for additional strength; securely MIG welded with channel type braces. All beams have a step down design to accept accessories. Foot plates are from heavy gauge steel and welded to each post for load distribution over 13.7 square inches. Learn about sizes and weight capacities below with more information on each racking line and a visual guide to the components.

Penco Pallet Rack Plus
To manage pallet storage needs in areas with high seismic activity, Penco’s Pallet Rack Plus provides consumers with a specifically designed system that has been heavily enforced. Starting with the plus beam end connectors, 4 additional connectors have been added to maintain a stronger connection between the beam and the upright post. The beam is welded 3” down from the top of the connector to enhance even loading across all four connector prongs. Plus Upright frames are fixed with larger foot plates, the extra holes offer more options for floor anchoring. Each upright includes two 5” x 7” x 3/8” thick foot plates with four 9/16” diameter anchoring holes.

Penco Pallet Rack
Penco Pallet Racking standard line includes fully-furnished, upright frames that are available in five different load capacities. Frame types can be easily identified with letter codes that are stamped onto the face of the post. A variety of standard depths are available including 30”, 36”, 42”, 48”, 54” and 60” with even more depth options or cantilever frames available. Standard heights vary between 48” to 240” in 6” increments with the ability to increase height with the addition of splices. Beam heights can be adjusted on 3” vertical centers and are independent from the frame. Because there are no dead spots on the post, any type of beam can be positioned along the height of the post, even across a splice. Combined frames do not have to adhere to the same load rating and can be joined in a row of racking to fully maximize available space.

Questions about Penco Pallet Rack

These answers provide a starting point. Final equipment, capacity, layout and installation requirements must be confirmed for the specific facility and application.

How is pallet-rack capacity determined?

Beam capacity depends on the beam model, length, connector and load distribution. Frame capacity depends on upright design, frame depth, bracing, unsupported column length and the spacing of beam levels. Use manufacturer or engineer-approved capacity information for the complete configuration.

Do pallet racks need to be anchored?

Industrial pallet rack is generally anchored to a suitable concrete slab according to the approved design, manufacturer requirements and applicable code. Anchor type, embedment and location are project-specific.

How often should pallet rack be inspected?

Employees should report damage as soon as it is observed, with regular documented inspections performed at intervals appropriate to traffic, impacts and risk. A qualified person should evaluate questionable damage.
